Job Description
Mō te tūnga | About our Role:
We are seeking an experienced Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our St George’s Cancer Care team. In this role you will be working as part of an experienced team delivering safe, effective, evidence-based nursing care focused on exceptional patient outcomes.
This service provides specialist nursing care to oncology patients who have been assessed as most at risk of systemic anticancer therapy (SACT) side effects with or without complications from disease burden. The service provides continuity of care for the patients and acts as an integral link between the treating oncologists, haematologists, nursing team, multidisciplinary team and community services.

This is a full-time 1.0 FTE position. Rostered hours fall between 8.00am and 5pm Monday to Friday.

You will share our absolute commitment to ensuring patients receive the very best in cancer care treatment. Your clinical expertise will make you stand out, but you will also:
Must be an NZ resident and maintain a current Nursing Council of New Zealand practicing certificate.
Have relevant post graduate qualifications with expanded practice in nurse prescribing or be willing to work towards this.
Have over 3 years of recent oncology clinical experience with extensive knowledge and experience in SACT
Demonstrated leadership experience or recognised by colleagues as a trusted source of guidance and support.
Deliver high-quality, patient-centred care based on thorough assessment and clinical judgement.
Manage resources efficiently and effectively to meet patient healthcare needs.
Exhibit strong communication skills and the ability to evaluate and utilise evidence to promote critical thinking and evidence-based practice.
