Job Description

Mō te tūnga | About our Role:

We are looking for an awesome Purchasing Officer to join our team and ensure the smooth running of our busy hospital.  You will be working with established suppliers and contracts and will be responsible for the efficient purchasing, inventory management, warehousing and inventory distribution across the hospital.  If you’re not already, it won’t be long before you’re expert in the myriad inventory that is needed in the different departments!  We’re a small busy team who love our work and working for St George’s Hospital.  You will have on-going support so you can develop and learn all about purchasing within a hospital environment.

This position is permanent full time Monday to Friday. 

Desired Skills and Experience

Being a great team member is important to us - your interpersonal and communication skills will make you stand out.  You will also have:

  • Purchasing or procurement experience preferably within a hospital environment
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge and relevant experience in warehouse, inventory or logistics
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail
  • Love working in a great team and want to make a positive contribution
