Job Description
Mō te tūnga | About our Role:
We have a great opportunity to join our friendly Sterile Sciences team in this full-time position. In this role you’ll be one of two coordinators, with responsibility for team supervision and leadership, providing high quality sterilisation services for the hospital. This role includes a hands-on component within the sterilising unit. There is plenty of variety in the role and because of the increasing variety of surgeries we perform at St George’s, there is plenty of scope for you to develop your expertise.
This is a full-time role. The successful applicant will need to be available for rostered shifts across the Sterile Sciences across operating hours of Monday to Friday 0600 to 2200. We endeavour to run a 4-week rotating roster to support your work life balance.
Desired Skills and Experience
Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Essential skills/experience for the role:
A minimum of 5 years’ Sterile Sciences experience
Leadership experience within a Sterile Sciences environment with demonstrated leadership qualities
Be a cooperative and supportive team player
Hold the Certificate of Sterilizing Technology (level 4) or equivalent qualification recognized by the NZSSA
Member of the NZSSA (Sterile Services Association of New Zealand)
Proven commitment to Quality Assurance within the SSD service. Knowledge of AS: 5369:2023
Proficient in the use of MS Office applications, email and the Internet.
Technical knowledge to understand required parameters to operate and detect faults in all workplace equipment
Be able to work flexible hours over a four-week roster
Have methodical and meticulous attention to detail
Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
This position involves standing, lifting and pushing heavy trolleys
